Wednesday night

I was standing in Tom Snyder's office and he was cracking a bunch of lame jokes, all the while standing behind his desk and staring right through me. At one point I said, "It sure is crowded in this town," to which he replied, "And they haven't even brought the girls over yet (from the old country)!"

Tom Snyder died July 29 of leukemia. He was 71. I watched his show "Tomorrow" almost every night (actually every morning) following Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" on NBC. I'm sure that this dream was inspired by a particularly bug-eyed photo of Snyder which accompanied his appreciation in Entertainment Weekly magazine.
